Michael Bogaev Film
Michael Bogaev is an award winning filmmaker: director, cinematographer, editor, writer, and narrator. Bogaev’s passion for filmmaking extends to a variety of styles, but is most keenly focused on artistically advocating important social issues, such as teenage distracted driving, and the Syrian refugee crisis, and most recently, addiction and its often devastating effects.
Between March and May 2017, Bogaev’s films won four prestigious awards including two First Places, honored by an International C-Span Award, 2 Cablevision Awards, and a State of Connecticut DMV Award. His PSA, No Going Back, was selected by the Connecticut Department of Transportation to run as their television advertisement for a year to deter teens from texting while driving. In a little over two months, his films have brought in $8,500 in prize money, including $6,000 for Weston High School’s video department.
Committed to creating art for the common good, Bogaev either collaborates with like-minded young artists or goes solo to produce work that he hopes will positively affect both local communities and the world as a whole.
